Full Application for a PE Gym/Tornado Safe Room (Dome) has been submitted to MEMA for review. The first step of the process has been approved. Awaiting FEMA/MEMA approval to proceed to Phase “A” (Design)
Repair/Replacement of damaged canopies is 50% Completed.
East Amory Elementary
The fencing has been repaired.
Amory Middle School
Repair/Replacement of damaged canopies 90% complete.
Amory High School
Gym and Band Hall Reroof project 90% complete.
Repair/Replacement of damaged canopies, material on hand, waiting for installation.
The Repair/Replacement of the Tornado Damaged Windows at the High School is 98% complete. The Main Building is completed, awaiting delivery for window at the entrance of the CTC Building.
The Main High School Roof Replacement Notice to Proceed starting last day of school, May 2024. To be completed in July 2024.
The School District is still in negotiations with the Insurance Carrier on the High School Auditorium. Insurance believes the Auditorium can be repaired. However, the School District and its Engineers believe the facility is a Total Loss. The upgrades to the facility will cost several million dollars and the negotiations could take at least a year.
A Notice of Intent (NOI) has been submitted to MEMA to Construct a Dome Gym/ Tornado Safe Room at the HS Campus
Amory Athletics
High School Gym Floor Replacement has started and should be completed 4/1/2024. Due to unforeseen conditions of the existing slab condition. Leveling on the slab has taken an additional 90 days.
FEMA has agreed to incorporate/upgrade the ADA access to the HS Gym in the project worksheet.
Soccer Field Concession and Ticket Booth Repairs are Completed.
Soccer Field Lighting contract is 95% complete, however, the field is playable.
Football Stadium Bleachers Contract, Football Stadium Field/Lighting/Fencing Contract have been awarded. Work is scheduled to be completed in July 2024
The Football Field itself is not covered by Insurance.
Football Field Concessions/Restrooms bid date 2/20/2024. Scheduled completion July 2024
Programing and Budget discussions have started on the Baseball and Softball Complexes.
