The CTC is eager to begin a new school year, and our teachers share in that excitement. We recently spoke with Ginger McAlester—known to her students as “Coach Mac”—who is teaching Exploring Computer Science for the first time in the CTC, to get her perspective on the months ahead.
When asked, “With this being your first year in the CTC, what are you most excited about this year?” McAlester shared, “I am excited about the new curriculum because it includes robotics, E-textiles, and web page design. Lots of fun things that kids who don’t play sports or are not involved in extracurricular activities can be involved in."
We then asked about her plans for the class this year. She explained, “I plan on having a lot of fun this year; we will be doing things that the kids have never done before, which will be exciting.”
Finally, when asked what she hopes to accomplish this school year, McAlester responded, “I want to see excitement from all of my students and know that when they leave my classroom, they have learned something.”
The CTC is fortunate to welcome educators like Ginger McAlester, whose passion, creativity, and dedication promise to make the year ahead both engaging and inspiring.
